Nosal Ridge & Wielki Kopieniec

Distance8.2 km
Elevation gain489 m

Overview

This combines Nosal's rocky ridge and frontal Giewont drama with Kopieniec's open meadow and 1,328 m bald summit—two different flavours of "great view per hour" in one linked day.

Expect steep stone on Nosal, then forest mileage and another climb from Olczyska that can hold morning ice well into spring. The day is longer and more cumulative on legs than either peak alone.

Logistics stay point-to-point Kuźnice to Jaszczurówka with buses. Best for fit hikers who want variety—cliff ledges plus pastoral panorama—without entering the busiest Morskie Oko roads.

  • Olczyska Polana — A large, peaceful forest clearing passing historic wooden huts.
  • Witkiewicz Chapel — A unique architectural POI in Jaszczurówka at the end of the trail.
  • Polana Kopieniec — A sprawling alpine meadow with traditional shepherd huts; famous for crocuses in early spring.
