Overview

A 14.96 km loop through the Adršpach rock town and the forest west of it, starting and finishing at the car park below the rocks. The sandstone towers come in the first third; after that the walk turns west onto higher, quieter ground and comes back down the valley. 358 m of ascent.

Points of interest

Gotická branka — A rock gateway 1.85 km into the walk, standing directly on the path. Mapped as an attraction; the name is Czech for the Gothic gate.
Small Panorama — 2.45 km in and two metres off the line. Mapped as an attraction, and named for the outlook rather than for the rock.
U Roklin — A viewpoint 6.11 km in, 30 m off the line and easily stepped across to — the only one mapped anywhere along this walk. The name means 'at the gorges'.
Spirály — Near the end of the loop, 14.81 km in: a stone formation 132 m off the line, reached by a path of 650 m out and back.

About a sixth of the line is unmarked: some 2.4 km of forest track, path, service road and steps carrying no blaze at all. Nobody signposts this circuit as a whole, so it cannot be followed by waymarks and a walker needs the recorded track.
2649 m is on roads of one kind or another, 18% of the distance, with a further 257 m running within 25 m of one. None of it lacks a pavement of its own, but expect traffic where the line follows the road through the village.
The loop closes where it began and then runs out and back along a short spur past the start. The recording this line came from is known to be unreliable over its opening metres, so the very first and very last stretch may not be exactly what you walk.

Trail character

Just under six kilometres runs on ways whose type makes them footpath, with a further 1.5 km tagged path outright — close to half the distance is foot-width trail.
2.5 km is compacted gravel and 2.5 km is sealed. 1.1 km is sand.
757 m is boardwalk and 12 m is metal grating.
503 m of the line carries no surface tag at all, so about three per cent of the walk is simply unrecorded underfoot.
The line runs between 507 m and 720 m. The high ground is on the western half of the loop, away from the rocks; the rock town itself sits at the low end, near the start.
The walk passes under Nad srázem, 746 m, the highest ground along it. The summit stands 64 m off the line with no path reaching it, so the route goes below the top rather than over it.

Access & rules

The walk begins at Parkoviště Adršpašské skály, seven metres off the line, in the village of Adršpach — okres Náchod, SO ORP Broumov, Královéhradecký kraj.
Entry to the tour circuit and driving into the car park are charged separately, under §1.9 of the operator's terms, and §1.10 requires a valid ticket to be shown at the circuit. Two different bodies levy the two charges, so somebody arriving by car pays twice.
Just over four kilometres of the line runs on ways the map records as open to customers only, which is consistent with the charged circuit rather than with a public right of way.
The rocks are a national nature reserve, declared in 1933 over 1771 hectares, and a charged circular tourist trail runs through the whole area.
The circuit leaves Adršpach for Teplice nad Metují and Jívka, and crosses out of SO ORP Broumov into SO ORP Trutnov, before returning. Start and finish are both in Adršpach, which is where the parking question is answered.
